Two experts from CORHIO, our area’s Health Information Exchange, will provide information on:
• Coding tips to improve revenue through Hierarchical Condition Categories – and how to use this coding structure in other programs, such as MIPS, grant programs in the state and commercial payer arrangements
• Update on Health Information Exchange – how it helps Pagosa Springs and area providers securely exchange patient data outside of their electronic health record systems, new features and products available to you
• Description of funding available to practices to join the HIE for no charge (for two years)

SPEAKERS

Lauren Girard, Transformation Manager

Working with practices that are both primary care and specialty care, Lauren is a trusted advisor on risk coding, EHR utilization, quality improvements and reporting, workflow and new payment models, including the Quality Payment Program. Lauren has a thorough understanding of clinical quality measures, cost of care measures, privacy regulations
for patient data exchange including 42CFR Part 2 and HIPAA.

Doug Swords, Outreach and Technical Development Manager

Doug Swords works with critical access hospitals, clinics and other entities in rural Colorado as well as practices, hospitals, and other organizations in the Colorado Springs area. Doug educates the healthcare community about the benefits of health information exchange and works closely with Colorado payer, health plan and ACO organizations to manage their participation in the HIE. Prior to joining CORHIO, Doug was the Chief Solutions Architect at the Colorado
Business Group on Health.
