HIMSS 2021 Conference
“What’s In a Name?: Colorado’s Approach to Identity Interoperability”
Las Vegas, NV
Description
The COVID-19 pandemic and various other use cases have illustrated significant challenges with identifying and tracking single patients across disparate systems, causing data analytics issues, as well as interfering with effective policymaking around decisions that rely upon those analytics.
In 2019, a project known as Statewide Identity Management was initiated Colorado’s Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI), and CORHIO has been tasked with partnering with state agencies to provide critical identity management services in support of effective population management. Although the state systems are separate and stand alone, this partnership allows the state to recognize and track individuals across the systems using a single ID.
During the presentation, CORHIO's Ako Quammie and Carrie Paykoc of Colorado’s Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI) will identify objectives utilized in identity resolution; summarize identity-resolution technology; and identify where identity resolution was implemented.
The conference is organized by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Visit HIMSS website for more details.
