Meaningful Use/Quality Payment Program

The Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs and Quality Payment Programs (also known as Promoting Interoperability Programs) provide financial incentives for healthcare providers to “meaningfully use” certified electronic health records (EHRs) to achieve healthcare quality and efficiency goals.

Quality Payment Program

The Quality Payment Program ends the Sustainable Growth Rate formula and gives eligible clinicians choices on how to take part based on practice size, specialty, location, or patient population. The Quality Payment Program has two tracks you can choose from: The Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs).

For more information on eligibility, timelines and payments, see the Quality Payment Program page.
