Quest Diagnostics Connects to CORHIO

Quest Diagnostics has connected to CORHIO and as a result, all of the state’s largest medical laboratories are now participating in health information exchange

Quest Diagnostics has joined LabCorp and Colorado Laboratory Services (CLS) as active participants on the CORHIO health information exchange (HIE) network. Cedar Diagnostics and Schryver Medical are two additional large medical laboratories that are in the process of connecting to the CORHIO HIE. As a result of broad participation by labs in Colorado, CORHIO estimates that more than 60 percent of all medical lab tests performed in the state can be exchanged through its secure, state-of-the-art network.

Lab Results From Quest Diagnostics Will Improve CORHIO’s HIE

Quest Diagnostics is the world’s leading provider of diagnostic information services and the company operates a clinical laboratory in Denver that serves patients in Colorado. Office-based physicians and other care providers will be able to access clinical lab results from Quest Diagnostics via the CORHIO system to find patient lab reports in seconds, potentially saving hours of time. Having these results available through the HIE could also reduce reordering of unnecessary tests because recent results from Quest will be available right in the patient’s health record.
