Colorado Hospitals Complete Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Two Years Early

A total of 73 Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals attested over the life of the program and earned over $87 million dollars.

Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals in Colorado that participated in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program have successfully completed their program requirements – two years early. The incentive program is federally funded incentive and the overall goal is for hospitals to receive payments for Meaningful Use of an electronic health record (EHR) system.

A total of 73 Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals attested over the life of the program, which started in 2012. The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing rewarded over $87 million dollars in incentive payments to these organizations.

The peak payment years were 2012, with $29.7 million in payments, and 2013, with $30.9 million in payments to hospitals.

CORHIO is partnered with the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to provide program coordination and assist with provider communications and outreach regarding the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program.
