Healthcare systems provide even more robust data to inform clinical decisions

Craig Hospital and Middle Park Health recently began transferring radiology, pathology, transcription and laboratory results to the health information exchange (HIE). Both systems began sending their admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) data through the CORHIO/Contexture network late last year.

Available through our PatientCare 360® service, this data will give healthcare providers throughout Colorado even more clinical data to base their decisions on. The data is also available for routing as part of our Results Delivery and Notifications products.

About Craig Hospital
Englewood, Colo.-based Craig Hospital is known worldwide for its expertise in brain and spinal cord injuries. As an independent, not-for-profit center of excellence, Craig Hospital has treated more than 34,500 patients since 1956.

Staff from Craig Hospital embrace a philosophy that while a debilitating injury might require some adjustments, it doesn’t mean that life comes to a halt. Patients are encouraged to continue their jobs and outdoor activities and to stay as active as possible.

Though Craig Hospital only recently started providing ADTs, the institution has been participating in basic health information exchange as a PatientCare 360 customer since 2012.

About Middle Park Health
A rural healthcare system with hospitals and clinics in Granby, Kremmling, Winter Park, Grand Lake and Walden, Middle Park Health took part in a larger HIE implementation project last year. The project gives partners of Centura Health the ability to send data to the HIE with no additional fees.

Established in 1933 in Kremmling, Middle Park Health went live with PatientCare 360 early in 2021. Receiving the feeds from Middle Park Health’s facilities in rural Colorado will be helpful for healthcare providers throughout the state.

Types of results available in PatientCare 360
Along with providing radiology, pathology, transcription and lab results, PatientCare 360 also gives healthcare professionals access to mediation/allergy problem information as well as care summaries from ambulatory providers, Kaiser Permanente, the Department of Defense and the Veteran’s Administration.
