And Boulder Community Hospital is the first to start sending data to the state-designated agency.

By so doing, the Colorado Regional Extension Center (CO-REC) hopes to help physicians who are considering buying an EHR system, just as a federal payment program for their use takes flight. “There are hundreds of EHR systems to choose from,” said CO-REC Director Robyn Leone. “We wanted to reduce the options to a manageable number, while leading a selection process that holds product-makers accountable, lowers costs and provides doctors with good technical support.”
